Eminent Fellow

ESOME – A Living Legacy of Leadership

The highest honour SOME bestows – reserved for individuals whose life's work has fundamentally elevated the practice of management and its contribution to humanity.

What Defines an Eminent Fellow?

The Eminent Fellow (ESOME) designation transcends professional achievement. It is awarded to leaders whose lifetime contributions have profoundly influenced the course of management, governance, or societal well‑being. ESOME is not a membership tier one applies for – it is a global statement, conferred by the unanimous decision of the SOME Executive Council and ratified by the Board of Trustees.

There are fewer than 20 living Eminent Fellows at any time. They include former heads of state, Nobel laureates, founders of global institutions, and philosophers of management whose ideas have changed how the world organises itself. Each Eminent Fellow embodies the SOME conviction that leadership is a trust, not a title, taken to its ultimate expression.

A Legacy Cast in Gold

Eminent Fellows receive a bespoke gold medallion, a lifetime seat on the SOME Board of Trustees, and the establishment of an Eminent Fellowship in their name – a permanent endowment that funds leadership development for underserved communities worldwide.

The Medallion

Hand‑crafted in limited edition, bearing the SOME emblem and the Fellow's name – presented at a global ceremony.

Named Fellowship

A perpetual scholarship programme in the Fellow's name, supporting emerging leaders from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Living Biography

SOME commissions a professional biography of the Fellow, archived in the Library of Congress and partner national libraries.

ESOME Reflections

"The Eminent Fellowship in my name now supports ten aspiring leaders every year. Knowing that my legacy will outlive me in such a tangible way is the greatest honour of my life."

– Nobel Laureate & Former Head of State

"When I received the medallion, I wept. Not from pride, but from the overwhelming sense that my life's work had been truly seen by those I respect most."

– Founder, Global Health Initiative

Honouring a Lifetime of Impact

Eminent Fellowship is conferred only by unanimous decision of the Executive Council. Nominations are accepted from current Eminent Fellows, Distinguished Fellows, and members of the Board of Trustees.
