C‑Suite & Senior Executives

Minimum 7 years in senior leadership – CEOs, COOs, CFOs, Managing Directors. Must demonstrate enterprise‑wide impact, P&L accountability, and transformational leadership.

Consultants & Entrepreneurs

5+ years advising or founding businesses with measurable impact. Equivalent leadership experience is considered through case portfolios and client testimonials.

Experiential Route Benefits

Accelerated Certification

Bypass foundation exams – directly eligible for CME®, CEL®, or FSOME based on your experience level and portfolio.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Your years of leadership count. No redundant coursework – just a rigorous validation of your real‑world impact.

Fellow Membership Path

Senior applicants may qualify for FSOME (Fellow) or DFSOME (Distinguished Fellow) directly after portfolio review and interview.

Swift Recognition

Typical time from application to credential: 2–3 months, compared to 6–12 months for the standard examination route.

The Application Process

Step 1

Document Submission

Provide a comprehensive CV, employment records, evidence of leadership impact (e.g., strategic initiatives, financial results), and two professional references from current or former senior colleagues.

Step 2

Portfolio & Experience Assessment

A panel of senior SOME Fellows reviews your portfolio against the SOME Framework competencies: strategic leadership, people management, financial acumen, ethics, and innovation. They assess depth, breadth, and authenticity of your experience.

Step 3

Interview & Acceptance

A structured professional dialogue with two senior assessors. This is not an exam, but a peer‑level conversation to explore your leadership philosophy and impact. Upon success, you receive your SOME designation and membership.
